Find out how the River Valley Primary School Choir builds students' confidence, teamwork, and love for singing through performances, competitions, and community events.
The River Valley Primary School Choir was established in 1993 with a mission to develop students in their passion for singing and love for performing. Each student is not just trained vocally and musically but is developed holistically through the opportunities given to exercise qualities like confidence and teamwork. To develop leadership and good values, our Primary 5 and 6 choristers are given opportunities to mentor their Primary 3 and 4 juniors in their singing techniques and learning of choral pieces.
The seniors also take charge of teaching their juniors song signing for National Day performances. As part of the Values-in-Action (VIA) activities, the choir performed for the staff and patients as well as the public at the SGH MusicFest.

Over the years, the choir has put up numerous performances at venues like the Esplanade and Chijmes and also performed during various school concerts to celebrate occasions like Chinese New Year, National Day and our annual Speech and Prize Giving Day.

In 2018, the choir had the honour to represent Singapore by performing the ASEAN Anthem at the 32nd ASEAN Summit Opening Ceremony at the Shangri-la Hotel.
